Biographical Note
Probably originally from Kendal, Westmorland. At the time of his death he was described as butler of Christ's College, Cambridge, where he was probably studying for a degree while working to support himself.
Books
Barwyck's probate inventory includes 34 titles, in 39 volumes, valued at 13s 8d (from a total estate valued at £9 2s). The books are largely in Latin, with at least one in Greek, and cover the range of subjects appropriate for undergraduate study.
