====Biographical Note==== 
Son of [[family::Thomas Austin]] of [[location::Lostwithiel]], [[location::Cornwall]]. BA [[education::Exeter College, Oxford]], 1630. While at [[education:: University of Oxford|Oxford]] Austin published a poem [[book title::''Urania, or, the heavenly muse'']] [[date of publication::1629]], a 'committed exegesis on the biblical narratives of fall and redemption' (''ODNB''). He later became [[occupation::vicar]] of [[location::Menheniot, Cornwall]] 1646 (ejected 1660), and apparently lived and preached in [[location::Plymouth]] thereafter (where he was briefly imprisoned).
