====Biographical Note====
Son of [[family::Roger Mander]], of [[location::Bricknoller, Somerset]].  BA [[education::Balliol College, Oxford]] 1669, MA 1672, BD 1680, DD 1688; [[occupation::Master]] of [[education::Balliol College, Oxford]] 1687, [[occupation::Vice-Chancellor]] of [[organisations::University of Oxford|:the University of Oxford]] 1700-02.  [[occupation::rector|Rector]] of [[location::Riseholm, Lincolnshire]] 1680, of [[occupation::rector]] of [[location::Spettisbury, Dorset]] 1684, of [[location::Duloe, Cornwall]] 1704.  Noted for his benefactions to [[education::Balliol College, Oxford|Balliol]] and as a leader of reconstruction work at the [[education::Balliol College, Oxford|college]] during his mastership.

====Books====
In his will, Mander bequeathed to [[bequest::Balliol]] all the [[bequest::folios]] in his study, directing that the rest of his books be [[retail sale::sold]] and the money given to the College to buy books.  He left the disposal of his papers to the discretion of his executors, asking that his sermons be given to [[associates::Thomas Dowden]] of [[education::Balliol College, Oxford|Balliol]], and that four volumes of Samuel Craddock's sermons be [[bequest::given]] to his [[beneficiary::sister]] [[family::Anne Mander|Anne]].
