Notice

As from 3 Feb 2020, CELL Chameleon is the default skin for this website, meaning that anonymous users will view the site in the customised look. Accredited editors have the option of switching the Vector skin back on in their Preferences.

Changes to the site also include the addition of the NoTitle extension, which allows for automatically generated page titles to be suppressed. So far, this new feature has been used right here on the Main Page, and in the Edmund Castell article.

John Patrick bequeathed all his books (along with the residue of his estate more generally) to his brother Simon, who estimated that the library had cost him over £1000 to assemble. Most of the books passed soon afterwards into the cathedral libraries of Peterborough and Ely.
