====Biographical Note====

BA [[education::Trinity College, Cambridge]] 1587/8, [[occupation::fellow]] 1589, MA and [[occupation::deputy proctor]] 1591, and BD 1598. In the last year of his life he was [[occupation::rector]] of [[location::Hemingford Abbots, Cambridgeshire]].

====Books====
Shaxton's probate inventory includes over 90 books, valued at £6 0s 10d (from a total estate valued at £34 8s 9.1/2d). The books are mostly in [[language::Latin]], with some [[language::English]], [[language::Hebrew]], [[language::Greek]], [[language::French]] and [[language::Italian]]. The books are predominantly [[subject::theology|theological]], with some [[subject::grammar]], [[subject::lexicography]], [[subject::law]] and other subjects. He [[bequest::bequeathed]] a number of specific titles to individuals at [[organisations::Trinity College, Cambridge|Trinity]], as well as his brother, cousin, and other acquaintances.
