BA [[education::St John's College, Cambridge]] 1655, [[occupation::fellow]] 1655, MA 1658, BD 1665. [[occupation::rector|Rector]] of [[location::Friern Barnet, Middlesex]] 1673.

Chamberlaine [[bequest::bequeathed]] [[monetary value::£100]] to [[beneficiary::St John's College, Cambridge|St John's]], for the purchase of books. His library was [[auction::auctioned]] at [[location of auction::Cambridge|Stourbridge Fair]], [[date of auction::8.9.1686]]. The sale catalogue contains 1350 lots, divided between [[language::Latin]] [[subject::theology]], [[subject::history]], [[subject::philology]] etc (681 lots), and [[language::English]] [[subject::theology|divinity]], [[subject::history]], [[subject::philology]] and "humanity" (669). The copy of the catalogue in St John's College Library, Dd.9.15(2) (which belonged to [[crossreference::Thomas Baker]]) is marked up with prices.
