Henry COCKCROFT d.1567

Biographical Note

BA Christ's College, Cambridge 1546, fellow of Trinity College 1547, MA 1549. At the time of his death he was described as chaplain of Trinity College.

Books

Cockcroft's probate inventory includes over 50 books, valued at £5 5s 4d (from a total estate valued at £16 8s 4d). The books are mostly in Latin, with some English ones, with a predominance of theology (including many writings by Protestant reformers) alongside some classics, medicine and law. He bequeathed to his brother John all his books "in the vulgar tongue", and the remainder to his mother and sisters. The full inventory is edited as Leedham-Green no.127 (see full citation below).
