Son of [[family::Thomas Brooke]] of [[location::Chester]]. BA [[education::Brasenose College, Oxford]] 1717, MA 1720, [[occupation::fellow]] of [[education::All Souls College, Oxford|All Souls]] 1720, BCL 1723, DCL 1727. [[occupation::Regius professor of civil law]] 1736-42.

Brooke used an engraved armorial bookplate, noting his status as a fellow of All Souls (Franks 3876); the extent and disposition of his library is not known.
