Charles Montague BERTIE 1695/6-1744
Biographical Note
Second son of Henry Bertie of Chesterton, Oxfordshire, and grandson of Montagu Bertie, 2nd Earl of Lindsey. Matriculated at Hart Hall, Oxford 1711; BA Magdalen College 1715, MA 1718; rector of Uffington, Lincolnshire 1719-44.
Books
Bertie used an engraved armorial bookplate, noting him as "of Hart Hall" (Franks 2376); the extent and disposition of his library are not known.
