Biographical Note

BA Brasenose College, Oxford 1660, MA 1663. Vicar of Great Baddow, Essex 1663, Rector of St Michael Royal, Paternoster Row, London 1662, of Chadwell, Essex 1670.

Books: Adams’s library was sold by auction in Chelmsford, 16 November 1683. The sale catalogue lists 581 lots, divided into 246 Latin and 335 English (not further subdivided by subject, though theology is a major component of both language sections). About 17% of the Latin books are 16th century imprints and otherwise imprint dates range widely across the 17th century. The sale made £89 19s 2d.
