Richard Still DYKE 1716-1761
Biographical Note
Son of Thomas Dyke of Burwash, Sussex, from whom he inherited the manor of Stangrave in Eatonbridge, Kent. Matriculated at University College, Oxford 1733, but did not graduate. He married Anne Jordan, daughter of George Jordan, chancellor of Chichester; there is a memorial to both of them in St Bartholomew's Church, Burwash.
Books
Dyke used an engraved armorial bookplate, made when he was at Oxford (Franks 9436); the extent and disposition of his library is not known.
