Janet PARKER or CARRIER d.1727?
Biographical Note
Assumed to be Janet Carrier, daughter of Charles Carrier, who married Thomas Parker, later 1st Earl of Macclesfield, in 1691. There is however some ambiguity as most sources give the date of her death as 1733, while Alston gives it as 1727, citing newspaper evidence. 1727 would fit with the book sale date (1729). There does not appear to be another Lady Parker as an obvious candidate; Thomas Parker's mother Anne died in 1699, and the first wife of the 2nd Earl (George Parker, d.1764), Mary Lane, died in 1753.
Books
"The libraries of the honourable the Lady Parker, and a gentleman of the Temple" were auctioned in London, beginning 13 March 1729; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Post and the Daily Journal.
