Isaac MILLES or MILLS 1638-1720

Biographical Note

Son of Thomas Milles of Cockfield, Suffolk, gentleman. BA St John's College, Cambridge 1660, MA 1663, after which he became curate of Barley, Hertfordshire. In 1674 he became vicar of Chipping Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, and in 1681 rector of Highclere, Hampshire, where he also opened and ran a school. His posthumously published biography (in 1721) praised his piety, charity and modesty.

Books

Milles's library was sold by retail sale in London, beginning 14 November 1721; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Courant and Daily Journal.
