Books
Rawlins' library was sold by retail sale in London in 1707. No catalogues survive; an advertisement for the continuation of the sale, beginning 19 June 1707, describes him as ‘late of Shene [i.e. Sheen] in the county of Surrey’, and announces ‘an extraordinal collection of very valuable books in Latin, Spanish, French, and English, among which are some of the most curious Roman antiquities and other books of sculpture, likewise most of the classick authors of the best editions’.
