Dean of York, and antiquary.
Books
A list of books belonging to him, ca.1700, is in BL Sloane ms 203, fos.266-8. Gave oriental manuscripts to Trinity College, Cambridge. The bulk of his large library passed to his eldest son Roger (d.date of Death:1744), who gave their joint manuscripts collections to Trinity. Listed in Edward Bernard's Catalogi manuscriptorum, 1697, as owning 491 manuscripts.
