Sir James HARINGTON, 6th baronet 1708/9-1782
Biographical Note
Son of Richard Harington of Iver; he inherited the Harington baronetcy from his great uncle Sir Edward in 1716. The family estate was at Burton, Oxfordshire. He matriculated at Balliol College, Oxford in 1724 but did not graduate.
Books
Harington used an engraved armorial bookplate, dated 1741 (Franks 13779); the extent and disposition of his library is not known, but the baronetcy passed to his eldest son James (1726-93).
