Edward TREDCROFT 1712-1768
Biographical Note
Son of Nathaniel Tredcroft of Horsham, Sussex; his grandfather (also Nathaniel) was rector of Horsham in the middle of the seventeenth century and the family became established as squires and local magistrates there. Edward matriculated at Merton College, Oxford in 1730, but did not graduate.
Books
Tredcroft used an engraved armorial bookplate, made when he was at Merton (Franks 29761). The extent of his library is not known; his will has no specific mention of books and the bulk of his estate passed to his eldest son Nathaniel.
