Books

No biographical details have been traced of the "Humphry Adams of Cookham, Esqr", who used an engraved armorial bookplate around the middle of the 18th century (Franks 143), beyond the fact that he was High Sheriff of Berkshire in 1753, and that he purchased an estate at Badgemore, near Henley where he lived 1751-53. The extent and disposition of his library are not known.
