Biographical Note
Son of Alexander Campbell of Bragleen, licensed minister in the Church of Scotland by the presbytery of Inveraray on 12th July 1723. Ordered to ClachanDysart (Glenorchy)) in August 1731; transferred to Glenaray in May 1735 ; presented by Archibald, Duke of Argyll, Oct. 1744; transferred and admitted to Inveraray 7th May 1745. He died 13th August 1764. He married Elizabeth, daughter of Campbell of Inverawe, and had issue.
Books
Campbell’s books were sold at auction by Robert and Andrew Foulis in Glasgow on 4th March 1765. A copy of the auction catalogue survives at Glasgow University Library (Mu33 g.7).
