James STRODE d.1748/9

Biographical Note

Strode was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1698, the son and heir of Carew Strode. Together with his brother Edward, he was entailed property by his uncle Edward Strode of Deane, Somerset. He married Mary Head in 1699.

Books

He used an engraved armorial bookplate (‘James Strode, of Lincoln’s Inn Esq.’): Franks 28417.

There is no reference to books in his will, and the extent and the content of his library have not been established.
