Richard MORTON 1668/9-1730

Biographical Note

Son of Richard Morton, nonconformist minister and physician. BA St Catharine's College, Cambridge 1691, MD 1695. He was admitted a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 1707; the advertisement for his library sale describes him as an FRS, but he is not recorded on the Royal Society website. He became physician to Greenwich Hospital in 1716.

Books

Morton's library was auctioned in London , in two sales beginning 25 March and 6 May 1730 (the second sale also included part of the library of James Stokes). No catalogues survive, but the sales were advertised in the Daily Journal.
