William BALAM 1652/3-1726
Biographical Note
Born at Ely, son of William Balam, gentleman. BA St John's College, Cambridge 1671, LL.D 1682; admitted at Lincoln's Inn 1672. Registrar of the diocese of Ely from 1706. His commonplace book, dated 1711, survives in Cambridge University Library.
Books
Balam's library was auctioned in London, beginning 29 April 1729; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in several newspapers.
