Lionel SEAMAN 1707/8-1760

Biographical Note

Son of William Seaman of Upton Scudamore, Wiltshire, gentleman. BA Rector of Corsley, Wiltshire 1737, vicar of Frome, Somerset 1742, archdeacon of Taunton 1753 and of Wells 1758, when he also became a prebendary of Wells.

Books

Seaman used an engraved armorial bookplate, made sometime after he graduated MA in 1729 (Franks 26394). The extent of his library is not known; his will has no mention of books, but directed that most of his property be held by trustees for the benefit of his wife and children.
