Anthony BABINGTON 1561-1586
Biographical Note
Eldest son of Henry Babington of Dethick, Derbyshire and Mary, daughter of George, Lord Darcy. Executed for plotting to kill Elizabeth I and free Mary Stewart, Queen of Scots. When the "Babington Plot" was uncovered, it led to the execution of not only ints conspirators, but also their intended queen.
