Freeman's books were sold by retail sale in London from 28 March 1727. A catalogue of his library was published, and the sale was advertised in the Daily Post. It described his library as "a curious collection of books relating to history, antiquities, and parliamentary affairs of Great Britain and Ireland, and most foreign countries. Of architecture, sculpture, medals, physick, natural history, trade, husbandry, divinity, the fathers, classicks... likewise Spanish, Italian and French books". The advertisement also lists a number of specific titles, and alludes to the inclusion of "400 volumes of antient church musick".
