Ranulph or Ralph KENT d.1624

Biographical Note

Master of the grammar school in Nantwich, possibly from the time of its founding in 1572, until his death or shortly before.

Books

Kent's probate documents include an inventory listing ca.30 books, including some kept "in the studie", which were left to the school. One book formerly inscribed by him has been identified, a copy of the 1561 edition of Langland's Piers Plowman, now in the Harry Ransom Center, University of Texas.
