Sir Robert VINER or VYNER 1631-88
Biographical Note
Born in Warwick; son of William Vyner. Apprenticed to his father's half-brother Thomas Vyner (1588–1665), a goldsmith and banker, in 1646. He became the king's goldsmith after the Restoration.
Books
Books with his armorial stamp survive. A copy of London's armory by Richard Wallis (1677), presented to Viner by the author with his manuscript arms incorporated, was sold at Forum Auctions, 26 March 2020, lot 437.
