John WICKART d.1722
Biographical Note
MA Clare College, Cambridge 1676, DD 1693. He became chaplain in ordinary to the King in 1684, canon of Windsor in the same year, and dean of Winchester in 1693. He married Susanna, daughter of Sir John Colladon.
Books
Wickart's books were sold by retail sale in London from 2 December 1723. Advertisements in the Daily Courant described his library as 'consisting of several choice and valuable Books, in Hebrew, Greek, Latin, French, Italian, Spanish, and English, relating to History, Divinity, Critical Learning, wise Literature, Philosophy, Mathematicks, Voyages, Poetry, &c'.
