Sir Fulwar SKIPWITH, 2nd bart 1676-1728
Biographical Note
Son of Humberston Skipwith of Newbold Revel, Stretton-under-Foss, Warwickshire, and Elizabeth Cony. Succeeded his grandather as 2nd bart in 1677. Married Mary Dashwood in 1703. MP for Coventry 1713-15.
Books
Skipwith’s bookplates dated 1704 are in the Franks Collection (two impressions of each of two sizes: 27079, *397; 27080,*179).
One appears on the front pastedown of a Shakespeare First Folio, possibly bound for him, now at Brown University Library: RARE 1-SIZE PR2751.A1x 1623.
His will makes no reference to books, and the extent and nature of his library are not established.
