Stephen LUSHINGTON d.1718

Books

The engraved armorial bookplate of "Stephen Lushington, Esqr." (Franks 18933) is attributed in the Franks catalogue, on the grounds of heraldry and design, to Stephen Lushington of Sittingbourne (d.1718), about whom few other details have been traced; it could alternatively have belonged to his younger son of the same name, b.1709/10, who was BA Christ Church, Oxford 1730, MA 1733. It seems unlikely (on design grounds) to be associated with his grandson Sir Stephen, 1st bart (1744-1807).
