Edmund NEWDIGATE 1702/3-1779
Biographical Note
Son of John Newdigate of Holt, Norfolk, physician. Admitted at Leiden University, 1726; MB Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge 1725, MD 1729. He initially practised as a physician at Watton, Norfolk, before moving to Ipswich in 1748, where he died.
Books
Newdigate used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 21717). The extent of his library is not known; in his will, he left all his books, along with all his other goods, chattels and personal estate, to his sister Mary.
