Biographical Note

Doleman is described by the catalogue and advertisements of his library's sale as an M.D. and an eminent surgeon.

Books

Doleman's books were sold at retail sale for three days from 10 September 1718 in London. The sale was advertised in the Post Boy and the Evening Post, with the former describing it as 'a choice Collection of many valuable and uncommon Books in Physick, Surgery, History and Philology, in Greek, Latin, French and English.' The advertisement also lists some titles, including Purchas his Pilgrim, Selden's Titles of Honour, Holinshead's Chronicles and Polychronicon.
