Edward LIVELY d.1605

Biographical Note

BA Trinity College, Cambridge 1568/9, MA 1572, and fellow from 1571 to 1578. From 1575 to his death he was Regius Professor of Hebrew, and he also held a prebend at Peterborough.

Books

Lively's probate inventory includes over 110 books, valued at £9 17s 11d (from a total estate valued at £86 14s 6d). His library is notable for its Hebrew holdings, but Latin, Syriac, English, French, Chaldee and Greek also feature. The books are mostly theological in nature alongside lexicography, grammar, history and other subjects. The full inventory is edited as Leedham-Green no.179 (see full citation below).
