John JOHNSON d.1585/6
Biographical Note
BA Queen's College, Cambridge 1546/7, MA 1549, fellow of Clare College, Cambridge 1553, migrated as fellow to Jesus the following year. Possibly ordained priest in Lincoln in 1556.
Books
Johnson's probate inventory includes over 100 books, valued at £35 9s 9d (from a total estate valued at £361 18s 3d), and describes their arrangement on a variety of shelves around his home. The books are mostly in Latin, with some English, with a predominance of law alongside some rhetoric, literature, lexicography and other subjects.
