Biographical Note
Of Bury, Lancashire. He is said to have taken a BA degree at Cambridge, but he is not included in Venn's Alumni Cantabrigienses. He was curate of Littleborough, Lancashire from 1701, and minister at Bampton from 1725.
Books
Thornley's library was auctioned in London, beginning 27 June 1728, and his prints and drawings on 5 July. No catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Post.
