Walter BARKER d.1568

Biographical Note

BA St John's College, Cambridge 1564, fellow 1566, MA 1568, BD 1575. He was a prebendary of Lichfield 1567-69, ma University preacher in 1572 and appointed Hebrew lecturer at St John's in 1573..

Books

Barker's probate inventory includes over 140 books, valued at £15 0s 9d (from a total estate valued at £31 15s 1d). The books are mostly in Latin, with some Greek, Hebrew and English ones, with a predominance of theology alongside some grammar, medicine, philosophy and other subjects.
