Biographical Note
Of the West Country. BA Trinity College, Cambridge 1550, MA 1553; nothing else is known about him for certain, though the number of medical books in his inventory suggest some involvement with the medical profession.
Books
Simpson's probate inventory includes over 90 books, valued at £5 7s 6d (from a total estate valued at just over £60). The books are mostly in Latin, with some Greek and English, with a predominance of medicine alongside some theology, classics, and other topics. He bequeathed a number of specific books to academic colleagues, including Thomas Lorkyn.The full inventory is edited as Leedham-Green no.112 (see full citation below).
