Biographical Note

Of Cumberland. BA Christ's College, Cambridge 1547, fellow of Pembroke College from 1547, MA 1549, BD 1556; he became a fellow of Jesus College in 1559.

Books

Edyll's probate inventory includes over 50 books, valued at £4 19s 2d (from a total estate valued at £22 13s 4d). The books are mostly in Latin, with some Greek and Hebrew, with a predominance of theology alongside some philosophy, classics, and other topics. He bequeathed a number of specific books to Jesus College, and to Pembroke College; the copy of Munster's Cosmography which he left to Jesus remains there today.
