Biographical Note
Probably the man of this name who was described as a fellow-commoner of Jesus College, Cambridge from 1557, but who seems to have died before graduation. He is also referred to as a priest.
Books
Barton's probate inventory includes ca.50 books, valued at £5 6s (from a total estate valued at just under £20). The listed books are all in Latin, with a predominance of theology. He bequeathed his books to a fellow student, Richard Barton. The full inventory is edited as Leedham-Green no.103 (see full citation below).
