Alexander BRODIE of Lethen, d.1770

Biographical Note

Son of Alexander Brodie of Lethen, Nairnshire, and Sophia Campbell of Calder (Cawdor). Member of Parliament for Nairnshire, 1735-1741. He supported the government during the 1745 rebellion, raising troops to join General Cope’s army.

Used an engraved bookplate (Franks 3810): Brodie, Alexander, of Lethen, Esqr.

The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
