Biographical Note
BA University of Cambridge 1509, MA 1514, BD 1512, DD 1524; he was a member of King's Hall from 1538, and was appointed the first regius professor of divinity in 1540.
Books
Wygan's probate inventory includes 214 titles, in 222 volumes, valued at £23 7s 6d (from a total estate valued at £72 19s 2d). The books are mostly Latin, with a few Greek and Hebrew ones, with a predominance of theology. He bequeathed his books, apart from a copy of St John Chrysostom on Paul's epistles (left to Thomas Blythe) to Richard Dixson. His other goods included plate, armour, and a pair of clavichords.
