John CHESWRYGHT or CHESEWRYGHT d.1537

Biographical Note

Fellow of Pembroke College, Cambridge 1515, BA 1510, MA 1513, BD 1524, later a member of Corpus Christi College. Incumbent of Baldock, and other livings, and a chaplain to Henry VIII.

Books

Cheswryght's probate inventory includes ca.120 titles, in 129 volumes, valued at £3 7s 3d (from a total estate valued at ca.£6 15s). The books are almost entirely Latin, with a predominance of theology alongside some classics, philosophy, and other subjects.
