Archibald BERTRAM of Nisbet, 1713-1768
Biographical Note
Archibald Bertram of Nisbet and Kersewell was the son of William Bertram of Nisbet and Kersewell (b. ca. 1680) and Cecilia Kennedy (d. 1774) who were married in Edinburgh in 1705.
He is recorded as the Leading Elder at Nisbet in summonses to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1762 and 1767. His grave is in Carnwath Churchyard, Carnwath, South Lanarkshire.
Papers of the Bertram family of Nisbet, Lanark, 1571-1890, are held at the National Records of Scotland.
