Edward TENISON, Arch-Deacon of Carmarthen 1673-1735
Biographical Note
Only surviving child of Joseph Tenison of Norwich, and Margaret Mileham. Entered Corpus Christi College, Cambridge in 1691. Graduated BA (1695) at Cambridge and LLB (1697), DD (1731) at Lambeth. He was made prebendary of Lichfield in 1705, and was appointed archdeacon of Carmarthen in 1708. Became prebendary of Canterbury in 1709. He was nominated to the bishopric of Ossory in 1731 by Lionel Cranfield Sackville, Duke of Dorset and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland.
