James LADD or LADDS 1668-1725
Biographical Note
Son of John Ladd, surgeon, of Norwich. MB Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge 1690, MD 1695; he also studied at the University of Leiden. He practised as a physician in London, and became a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 1708.
Books
Ladd's will has no specific mention of books, which would have been part of his household goods, which he directed his executors to sell with the proceeds held in trust for the benefit of his children. His "fine library", together with the rest of his household goods, was auctioned in London, beginning 20 April 1725; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Post.
