Charles VENTRIS 1661-1719
Biographical Note
Probably the son of John Ventris of Campton, Bedfordshire. Matriculated at Clare College, Cambridge 1679, but did not graduate; admitted at the Inner Temple 1680.
Books
Ventris's library was sold by retail sale in London, beginning 9 May 1720; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Courant as comprising "valuable, modern, and uncommon books, in Greek, Latin, French and English, in most faculties".
