Biographical Note
Born at Southampton, son of Thomas Pittis, vicar of St Cross there. BA Trinity College, Oxford 1691, MA 1694; vicar of Warnham, Surrey from 1695.
Books
Pittis's library was auctioned in London, beginning 12 May 1718; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Courant as "consisting of the best books in theology, history, lives, travels, voyages, poetry, mechanicks, &c. in Greek, Latin, French and English".
