Thomas FREKE d.1716
Biographical Note
Nonconformist minister, living in the parish of St Bartholomew the Great, London. His background and education have not been traced, but a number of his sermons, printed between 1704 and 1716, are listed in ESTC; his own funeral sermon was given by William Tong (ESTC t75898).
Books
Freke's library was auctioned in London, 7.1.1717; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Courant, as "a collection of valuable books in Greek, Latin, French and English. Freke's will has no mention of books, which would have been inherited, with the rest of his goods, by his wife Sarah; the will has no reference to children, and his other main beneficiary was his niece Henrietta Maria Arthur.
