David MERCATOR d.1716?
Books
The retail sale of the "houshold-goods, plate, fine pictures, and a library of valuable books, of Mr David Mercator, at his late dwelling-house in the Tower" was advertised in the Daily Courant, to begin 13.6.1716; no catalogue survives. Mercator is mentioned in Thomas Betterton's History of the English stage (1741) as being a clerk in the office of Ordnance in the Tower of London, but has not otherwise been traced.
