Biographical Note
Born in London, son of Thomas Boughton of Kingscliffe, Northamptonshire, gentleman. BA St John's College, Cambridge 1689, MA and fellow 1692, BD 1700; rector of Barrow, Suffolk 1714-28.
Books
Boughton used an engraved armorial bookplate, dated 1711, on which he described himself as "second Bro. to Mr. Tho. Boughton of Kings-Cliffe in Northamptonshire and Fellow of St. Johns Coll. in Camb., STB" (Franks 3165). The extent and disposition of his library are not known.
